The aforementioned "K" drives it ( !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ), I don't see a whole lot of these around, but I think it is a pretty good looking car! Pretty decent, well appointed interior too. The drivetrain is nothing too terribly exciting, but overall, I like it. I see it is related to the Almera, Pulsar and Primera.

If you'll read my post again, I pointed out that they are indeed closely related. When I lived in Europe I saw quite a few Primera's.

The most understated designs usually age the best. I remember at the time thinking that they looked plebeian and boxy, and now when I see a clean example on the road, I think, "That's actually rather handsome."

Speed reading fail, my apologies.

They were very popular over here a few years ago, disappearing off the roads now though. Can pick a used one up in the UK with under 100k on it for about $600 these days.

That's exactly my thoughts on this car! The fact that it's a fairly uncommon car also helps it. If these were a dime a dozen I don't think I'd find them nearly as good looking.

Haha reall? That's dirtcheap for a <100k car... Over here I'd be able to sell that for much much more.

Here's one I found pretty easily. 1999, 2.0 5-spd manual, 68k, £350.

They're becoming so rare now it seems, it's easier to find a newer generation Primera in the sub $700 bracket... A lot of cars in the UK depreciate amazingly quickly, any 'normal' car over 10 years old becomes almost worthless. Three years ago I bought a late 2000 Honda Accord, 1.8, 5spd with 74k on it for less than $1500.

The Nissan Primera of this generation was hugely popular in Japan and the Asian markets...there were some pretty sporty looking versions of it too. I remember the "CVT M6" model being all the rave back in the day...but I'm doubtful that it was much of an engaging performer, given the transmission it had, given it's namesake.

I really regret buying a 350Z instead of a 5-speed 2002 G20 that was at the same dealership.

Why is that, isn't the 350Z a better car in almost every way, except the amount of trunk and seating space?

Mainly cause the G20 was $5000 and the Z was $20K. And now Z's are under $10k and it's all but impossible to find a 5-sp G20 thats clean.

Ah ok, good point, haha.

This girls car was an automatic, I would have been thoroughly impressed had it been a manual.

Sometimes I wonder if I should have spent ~20k on my car, then I stomp the gas pedal and I'm ok with it.

I know what you mean, but right now I'm broke so when I stomp on the gas the bald rear tires spin (at the same time, thanks OS Giken!) due to expensive control arms holding trackish toe aligment, the dying cats smell like hellfire, the intake makes cool sucking noise while the dual exhaust makes a chainsawish unnormal- 350z noise and....yeah you're right it's really fun, I made the right decision.
